desert winds carry memories
turning them to dust
their weight too heavy
to persist as a whole
over a landscape where nothing grows.

the sky spread endlessly
over bare souls of silence
whistling only as sighs escape
caressing the sharp edges
of places that won’t return.

in the distance
a lonely duduk mourns
and rises towards heaven
burying its anchor
deep in the heart.

  1. wow.

I’ll take a ‘wow’ anytime. Thank you.

  2. you have an amazing way with words… they form pictures and sing soft melodies when read aloud… felt this one in my heart… it sounded like the breeze before the perfect sunset… the one you wish could stop time… thank you ~S for your words….

Enreal….. as I read your words I remember staring at a poetry book, thinking that I just don’t write like that. It doesn’t matter. Words that form images, sing, mimic nature… that’s more than I can ask for. Thank you. S.
