A hint of change

The morning feels different today
the sun’s reach leaves longing on my skin,
a shade of unfamiliar loneliness,
the wind’s embrace slightly cooler
as it wraps around my tired body.
As my bare feet explore the sleeping neighbourhood,
my eyes dance to the pure colours of the awakening day
and I can feel the beginning of the earth’s struggle to
leave the sultry summer and surrender to winter.

  1. That’s what autumn feels like: surrender, albeit a breathtaking kind.
    Nice observation.
I’m going to blogroll you tonight so it’s easier to get back here.
    I like reading your words.

  2. What if I told you that my goal was to write about autumn without mentioning it once?
Wasn’t ready for the ‘Fall’ word, at least not black on white. Ooooooops….
