Fellow passenger

I fell in love with your smile,
two days ago on the train,
today I know them all;
the smiles, the frowns, the pensative looks
and how you drop your head to the left,
then back to the right,
as if to see life from a different angle.
Through your unframed glasses
childish curiosity sparkles.
It’s late, the people around us are asleep,
just you and me,
too much in love with life.
Two stops before me you leave into the night.
I hope, I’ll see you again,
maybe we’ll talk
and you will tell me about the books you’ve read.
Who knows, maybe one day,
I’ll see your lovely smile again,
this time, a reflection of mine.
