Couldn’t end the week on a grumpy note…..
…. so I am glad I did make it to the movies tonight. The trailers were disappointing, couldn’t help thinking “Gawd, movies are either getting dumber than I thought they could ever get or regurgitated (love that word) until you are so tired of the mashed ingredients that swallowing them just seems like poisoning yourself”.
Then saw “Juno”. Have to say, it’s been a long time since I’ve been entertained this much during a movie. And what a relief after “Atonement”. Yes, I mean it. Truly refreshing, and funny.
Left the movie theater skipping through the deepest snow I could find. Weekend, here I come………

PS…..have to ‘google’ Jason Bateman……..

I saw Juno too and LOVED it. Sweetness, sarcasm, witty, intelligent, thoughtful – made me laugh. It was nice for a change. You didn’t care for atonement? And, I did google Jason Bateman, he’s HOT!
Well – don’t get me wrong. Atonement wasn’t bad . I guess based on the trailer I expected it to be more, different, moving, something else. Yes the set up of the story was cool, but then there just seemed to be a lack of content in it….. I felt like an uninvolved bystander rather than being drawn into the story. And re Bateman, glad you got the point
.
I live a sheltered life with little to no tv. I never heard of this movie before. After reading your post I went and checked it out on youtube. Looks cute. I’ll have to add it to my list of movies I’d like to see. I’m sure my wife will love it.
There is a part of me that envies people with no TV. If I were living by myself I wouldn’t have one either. This one isn’t on TV yet but I really think it is worth the rental fee / movie admission. The great thing about this movie is that it speaks to both males and females, and people who are teenagers, remember how it felt to be a teenager, have a teenager child or teenager grandchild or live next to a teenager. Let me know how you and your wife found it. And thanks for visiting.
I have been trying to get to the movies for Juno…Atonement???not worth the time I suppose…Cross that one off, or leave it for Netflix…
Have a great Weekend
Make time for Juno, and if you care about cinematography I guess Atonement should be seen on the big screen. If it’s the story you are interested in, Atonement can wait for DVD release. Having said that, that’s just me, my mother for example loved it and thinks it’s definitely of the best 2007 had to offer. So, I guess what I am trying to say, you’ll be the best judge.
Have a great NEXT weekend.
